Following our inspection in 2023, we continue to be rated as providing childcare which is OFSTED Outstanding in all key areas.
The quality of education; the behaviour and attitude of our/your children; the way we guide children's personal development; the quality of our nursery leadership and management and the way in which we safeguard our/your children has been assessed as providing outstanding high quality care and education for children aged 12 weeks to 5 years.
We achieve this through quality play, both free and adult led, which demonstrably develops independence and self confidence. We respect each child’s individuality and work in close partnership with parents to promote children's wellbeing and development.
Equally, we are committed to safe guarding, the promotion of child welfare and opportunities for each child in our care.

The lives of children have become much more restricted and controlled over the last 30 years or so, as a result of cultural, social and economic factors. Hence, children’s opportunities to play and explore on their own have decreased noticeably, and they spend more time under adult supervision at home and when out and about.
Many people argue that the built environment as a whole needs to be made more child-friendly if children are to be free to play outside as much as they would like to.
At NEXT Steps, we strongly agree with this idea. We believe children need and want to take risks as they play. Our goal is to provide exciting and challenging environments where children can explore and build their skills. We carefully manage risks to ensure children are safe from serious harm, while still giving them the chance to experience adventurous play.
In short, our play areas offers children challenging, self-directed play experiences.
